Paranorman is a movie that releases in August, and they have been doing some cool promotional stuff to hype up the movie, including a street campaign which gives away free full size movie posters with art by Graham Erwin.
The way it is done is that a background layer of posters is pasted up on the billboard, just like any other advertisement. Then on top of those, another layer of the same posters are put up with tacky paste. A day of strong wind blew many of these posters down, but based on eBay asking prices, these seem to be highly desirable for collectors.
Dig the marketing strategy. Have only seen these around Melrose and Fairfax. Is this city wide in Los Angeles? Or just certain areas?
